Veneers: For younger people, braces are the
suitable path to follow. For adults, however, braces are more
inconvenient. That is why, for many adults, veneers
are the most suitable choice for straightening, reshaping,
and re-coloring teeth. A veneer covers a portion or
all of the visible section of the tooth and is attached
to the tooth. After the veneers are attached, they
never stain or discolor, they improve biting, and they are very
durable. Veneers look like, and more importantly, feel
like real teeth. Another advantage is the fact that the entire
process can be completed in only two appointments.
Bonding: Usually, bonding is used to repair
chipped or broken teeth. Tooth-like material is
attached to the tooth to repair it. Unfortunately,
the bonding material
will discolor over time and is more open to breakage than
veneers, which last much longer and never discolor.
All Porcelain Crowns: The difference between
an all porcelain crown and a partially fused metal (PFM)
crown is that, with the all porcelain, the light is
translucent through the tooth. Today all porcelain
crowns are very popular. They are as strong as the PFMs but look and act as a real tooth, allowing light to
transfer through. |
